Welding
Many times during the repair process we have to weld new parts to your vehicle. In order to achieve factory welds, we use factory tools. Union Collision has done a large amount of research and has decided to invest in one of the most advanced welding machines on the market today-the Pro Spot i4. Our liquid cooled welder uses computer software, that can easily be upgraded, in order for us to obtain factory welds every time. It also has the ability to perform welds on the various different types of metals found in cars today.
Frame Repair
When it comes to safety, cars today are made with one goal in mind and that is to protect the passengers of the vehicle. To achieve this goal vehicles are made to “give” when in an accident. Many times this “give” is in the frame portion of your vehicle. To get your vehicle frame to its pre-accident condition our shop uses the most technologically advanced frame machines available. These new frame machines use a robotic arm to determine, within 1 millimeter, if there is any variation from the factory specs. It provides documented proof of repairs and assures our customers that the vehicle is back to the exact factory specifications. In total our shop has five machines that are able to perform any frame repair.
Wheel Alignments
Our alignments are done on the premises. We use a John Bean wheel alignment system, which mounts an electronic sensor on all four wheels of the vehicle. Using computerized modeling and high-resolution cameras we are able to see a true 3-D measurement of your vehicle's alignment. The computer compares the geometric relationships of the individual wheels to the other wheels and to the vehicle. This allows us to make any adjustments necessary to make sure the alignment of your vehicle is back to factory specifications.
Computers
We can’t talk about car repairs today without talking about computers. Every car on the road has an onboard computer, if not multiple computers. Sometimes when a car is in an accident a computer will malfunction. Other times, when we disconnect the battery of a car, or simply unplug a headlight we will cause multiple lights to become illuminated on your dash. While we do not have the ability to communicate with every vehicle on the road we do have the ability to perform most of the tasks needed. We have several different computer systems each with their own strengths that we use to perform this highly complicated diagnostic work. This helps ensure that we will be able to know what is wrong with your car and be able to fix it without any downtime while we wait for the dealer or a technician to come out and diagnose the problem.
Automated Documentation
We feel it is important that you, the vehicle owner, know exactly what we repair on your vehicle. Our digital camera system is equipped with bar code technology and a camera for each of our technicians. Upon entering Union Collision your car and file are labeled with a unique bar code. We then have the ability to scan the bar code with the camera, take any necessary photos, and wirelessly transmit these photos onto your estimate on file. This process documents the repair process from start to finish.
